PROGRAM OVERVIEW:
The course of study is approximately 20% classroom training, and 80% hands-on practical training, including a two-week work placement with an employer. All content required to challenge the Provincial Block One Examination is covered throughout the program, and the exam is scheduled upon successful completion at the end of your training. Throughout the practical instruction of the program, all students will receive their hands-on skills on actual construction projects.
EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES:
Upon completion of the program, students will be prepared to work in residential, commercial and industrial job sites as a qualified carpenter apprentice. Graduates of our program are preferred employees for most contractors.
OUR GOAL:
To provide theory and practical training to ease the transition into apprenticeship, allowing access to excellent employment opportunities within the carpentry trade.
APPROACH TO TRAINING:
Our curriculum standard for the carpentry trade is based on the National Occupational Analysis, which also includes, theoretical and practical instruction involving both group and individual activities. Since we strongly believe in our “hands-on” approach to education, the experience gained from the training on an actual construction project is unique to our program.
